My Dad introduced Jaedyn to the world of golf while he was here. Jaedyn has developed a love for basketball and now has an equally shared passion for golf. He LOVES it! The two of them spent many days after school over at the local course practicing their swings, puts, chips and whatever else I'm missing. Looks like I'll be taking up golf this summer! Ashlyn would love to get in on the fun, but 10 minutes was enough for her loud, enthusiasm. Not exactly the perfect place for Miss Sassy Spunks.
For Rob's birthday I got him a Groupon to kayak to the La Jolla caves. We used our Groupon while my parents were here and made it a fun filled day! We started out with this fabulous kayaking adventure...super fun, but next time I'm heading to the pod of dolphins..forget the caves! Next we went out to dinner at Bombay, a favorite Indian restaurant of ours in our old neck of the woods that we hadn't been to in several years. We ended our day with a concert at one of our favorite venues downtown with one of my favorite bands...Gungor. Never heard of them? You are totally missing out...a wicked talented Christian band that doesn't fit the usual lame predictable mold. Amazing.
Another lovely outing at one of our favorite parks...it has a great trail that goes around the lake for a nice, easy bike ride, a cute little park, a fun little water spray section and a perfect dock for fishing.
We finally managed to make it out to Laguna Mountain for our annual sledding trip. Laguna got dumped with about 18 inches of snow and within 3 days the warm temperatures roasted that snow right down to the bare bottom. We arrived right in the nik of time....there was just enough snow for sledding and some really sticky snow ball fights! Ashlyn was in heaven. I'm pretty sure she would have stayed there all night if we let her. She loved sledding, playing, making snow castles (we brought our sand toys...they worked fabulously!) and throwing snow balls at Jaedyn. Jaedyn started out gung ho and went down a bazillion times, but unfortunately ended with a pretty bad stomach ache which was just the prelude to the week coming up...which ended up being a lovely intestinal virus.
Jaedyn is really loving his t-ball team experience. Part of the reason why he loves it is his entire team is made up of about half of the boys in his pre-K class at school. They are pretty funny to watch....but even though they are so easily distracted and miss nearly all of the balls I have seen a lot of improvement. We're getting serious after this April vacation...they are taking away the T-ball stand and now they will be pitched to. Woo hoo...watch out, homeruns in the near future! :)
Here's a bunch of our activities this past month.... Jaedyn LOVES his basketball hoop from Auntie Lisa...we spend many of our days during the week out in our parking lot dunking! My Aunt and Uncle were here visiting..it was soooo fun to see them. As always we brought them to the RB Winery and they were in love!
