A day out with Dad's new eyes

Rob had lasik surgery on his eyeballs last week so I was the taxi driver for a few days. While Dad got his eyes checked we ventured around the beautiful property and looked at the fountains, blew some of those white fuzzy dandelions and climbed up and down the stairs a few hundred times. His doctor was in La Jolla so following the check up on the 2nd day we ventured over to La Jolla and soaked our tootsies in the Pacific. After some soaking we took the kids out to lunch at one of my favorite places in La Jolla, "The Cottage". A grand day and some of my favorite pictures of the kids! Enjoy. :)

Sculptures, splashes and silly smurfs

This summer is cooking right by. The month of June went by faster than a steam train. July...what? When was July? And August...not as fast as June and July but I have photo sessions coming out of my ears this month so I haven't been taking tons of pictures of my ninos. Six sessions...CRAZY excited! And drum roll...I just booked my first wedding. Woo hoo! Anyway...we have been spending our time swimming a LOT. Next to drums it's Jaedyn's favorite thing to do and I am sooo proud of him (and me for teaching him how to swim..hee hee). Last week he decided he was going to prove to himself that he could swim across the pool. I was a little nervous as this was a first and he had never come even close to swimming that distance. But I trusted his judgement and much to his and my excitement he did it. Yay! Unfortunately Ashlyn thinks she's just as good a swimmer as he is and will jump in when you aren't looking if she had the chance. All in all it's been such a fun summer with them both and I really do have the best job in the world. :0)

Last Minute Hike

We decided to hit the dirt last weekend and went for a nice, hot roast your toes off hike. I'm not sure what possessed us as this is not the time of year to go for a hike. But other than Rob having to carry Ashlyn for 99% of the way because she had a severe cast of the grumpies it was a lovely sweaty day. We even managed to find a cute little pond that was shouting our names to jump right in. But we didn't.

Water Park!

We joined our Church playgroup at a local private splash park last week. Ashlyn and I did some climbing, sliding, and swinging while the rest of the crew cooled off. Jaedyn who is turning into mr. social butterfly joined a group of big kids at one point for a game of basketball. He jumped right in and the kids were super nice to him...they tried to help him and encouraged him even though he was no where near the hoop when he threw the ball.
